Nah, if you like Tom Collins you should check out the Curragower and Bowles' too. Similar sorta vibes.

Would hate to see Collins' closed, really like the option of going to Bourke's, Martins, Flannery's or Collins if the mood took me.

Yep. Its true. So just a bit of spring cleaning. Late in the week they were working on the outside so it shouldn't be too long.

Don't worry, your drinking hole is safe.

Except maybe clean the toilets, disgusting – like too many other establishments in limerick.

He got rid of the trad session in Nancys on the Saturday evening. Nancy would not have been pleased.

even though he was as tall as Peter Stringer?

I have spoken to him the odd time over the years. He seemed pretty sound. Maybe I am in the above everyone else bracket? :);)

    That's just a German's natural demeanour....

You're being quite hard on the Germans, they are such a peaceful and understanding nation with a historically very high tolerance of their neighbours and citizens of minority religions......;)

Word on the street has it that there's an agreement in place that it'll be left the same (more or less) for the next 5 years

Bizarre clause, if true. Publicans are businesspeople. They are not An Taisce.

My own opinion - I couldn't care less. The soul of ould Limerick floated down the Shannon years back anyway in the boom years. Passing Tom Collins is only an inconvenient reminder to me of a glory and craic that once was and is no more.

Hope you're joking, is there even space for 6 tv's in Tom Collins'?

Quick, somebody organise a facebook protest.

What sort of eyesight would you need to be able to count six TVs inside a building as you passed by it?

    Possible wind-up? Hmmm?

That is what one of the men working there told me when I passed to have a look but as you say there is hardly any space for 6 tv's in there. The more i think of it he was probably pulling my leg, find out Friday to see what the real story is I guess!

it's been 'nancified' a bit but not in such a way as to be unrecognisable...is it the same? IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

    it's alright I suppose.

    If that's what you're into.
