The most important thing is that you let us know as soon as possible.

Someone else may well be able to take your time slot.

You will not lose your fee if you:

give at least 10 days notice
have not previously cancelled more than two appointments

You will lose your fee if you:

give less than 10 days notice
    OR
have already cancelled two test appointments

    How do I cancel

    You can cancel by:
    Post:

    Driver Testing Section,
    Road Safety Authority,
    Government Offices,
    Ballina,
    Co. Mayo
    Fax:

    096 78290
    Phone:

You can phone Lo Call 1890 40 60 40 - please note you can leave a message if you call outside of office hours and one of our customer agents will contact you.

    Email:

    Send an email to cancelmytest@rsa.ie
What happens if the RSA cancel my test

In a small amount of exceptional cases we may have to cancel your test at short notice.

    This may arise due to:

    hazardous weather conditions
    a tester being absent unexpectedly
    other exceptional circumstances

In these cases we will arrange another test for you free of charge at the earliest date possible.

We will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible if we are forced to cancel your test so please make sure you give correct contact information to us when you are applying.

Oops sorry should have been clearer, when you are reapplying for your test Ive seen some people say that there is a tick box that tells them you want to take a cancellation slot if it comes up but Ive applied for 4 tests now and Ive never seen it, does anyone know exactly where it is?

It's near the end of the process, where you get the calendar with (always in my case) no suitable dates. You click on 'none of these dates suit' or something like that and then there is a page to fill in periods you are unavailable. Under that is a tick box for 'can you accept a cancellation at short notice' (or similar). There is a boxed to be ticked.
