The gardaí are not and never have been a "police service".

They spend a certain amount of time on what would be considered normal policing duties just to take the bad look off it. In reality their role since the foundation of the State has always been as enforcers for the narrow conservative authoritarian oligarchs who rule Ireland. They exist to keep the populace beaten down and in a state of fear. They exist to smear, harrass and lay false charges against "troublemakers" and anyone who asks too many questions or who dares to take action - even lawful peaceful legal action e.g. lawsuits - against the corrupt oligarchy. They are up to their necks in - and show a staggering lack of interest in tackling by normal policing means - the vast amount of corruption and white-collar criminality in this country.

The Gardaí, in short, are not your friends and they do not work for you or in your interests. Just like all the other pillars of the corrupt gombeen statelet, they work for those with power and money, and will beat the tar out of anyone else.

Let me guess.
You have had numerous run-ins with the Gardaí because you were acting the bollix, but you can't take responsibility for your own actions.
You also believe that the reasons for the Gardaí intervening in your actions should be legal because you should have the right to do as you wish. Would that be correct?
