:D man sooo many good shows are starting up in January, midseason rocks this year and will easily fill the void of the regular network shows, here's what i'll be watching come January:

    V - season 2!
White Collar - yes!, second part of season 2
    Southland - woo!, season 3
Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena - epic! :D
Pretty Little Liars - second part of season 1, this fills my teen drama spot :)
Greek - love this show, it's season 4 and the final 10 eps.
The Cape - great, love my comic book hero shows!
Republic Of Doyle - season 2!, a gas show based in Newfounland, very funny at times. Has alot of Irishness to it!

    Tv goodness!

I have never heard of any of them except for 'V' which I saw the first time round in the 1980s :o

Not a whole lot there to be excited about there for me tbh!

'Greek' had a better second half to season 3 than it's lacklustre first half.

I'm looking forward to 'Spartacus' alright.. and yet I'll miss Andy Whitfield (I know he was never planned for this "spinoff series" though).

The more I see of The Cape, the more I'm thinking it looks very silly and it's also got the "Summer Glau curse" attached.

I got very bored of 'V' in the later half of the first season, so I'm not gonna bother.

And the rest, I'm either not particularly interested in or you need to be getting a healthy amount of estrogen to enjoy!

It's a shoddy remake of the classic series..

If i could recomend a show or two, Spartacus....it's quality tv, it has EVERYTHING you could ever want in a show, blood, gore, violence, nudity, hot babes, gladiators, fights, cussing, sex....every genre is covered ;)

I'd give The Cape a shot, it's getting alot of buzz, it's comic book hero stuff without the superpowers.

Only thing there worth bothering with is White Collar.

I'd agree with that. Nothing there looks all that interesting. With Boardwalk Empire and The Walking Dead ending in two weeks there'll be next to nothing besides Glee (yeah, and I'm not afriad to admit it either!) on the schedule that I'll be checking out most weeks. Generally I'm pretty skeptical of any US network show (as well as any scripted show from any other country, I'd add..!) and there doesn't appear to be much new this year that'll fill the hole 24 left. At least Peep Show is back for a few weeks!

Missing a few shows that might be worth watching.

Matt le Blanc's Episodes is starting on January 10th.

US remakes of Shameless (Jan 9th) and Being Human (Jan 17th) - they will probably be awful but Shameless has William H Macy.

Don't forget the new Shawn Ryan show (The Chicago Code) is starting on February 7th.

 Did you not see the last 2 seasons of 24? Granted Day 6 was below par for 24 standards but Day 7 is up there as one of the best seasons while Day 8 was very good and also had one of the best story arc's in the shows history spoiler:
    Jack's revenge
. Just look at the TV awards on this forum to still how popular 24 still was with viewers.

It will definetly be missed this Janurary. But maybe it was the right decision to end it when they did. Not too many shows have finished on such a high.

I tried watchign two episodes of Spartacus but I jsut got so annyoed with that ridiculous slo-mo special effect I couldn't face a third one. Soes it go on like that for the whole series?

If you just watched the first two you missed out man!....with every ep. after it got better with every ep. - the stories got increasingly terrifiic, you're one of those people who gave up too early, trust me (and i'm not the only one to say this) stick with it, it's one of those RARE shows that gets better with every ep.!!

These will be all worth a look, although I'm somewhat dreading those US remakes. But William H Macy kicks ass.

The 3rd series of UK 'Being Human' should begin early January too.

Californication and the final season of Big Love start in January, too. Also, Men Of A Certain Age returns next week. Loved season 1. Definitely one of my favourite new shows of recent years.
