It's a very good film. Thought it was slightly overlooked during awards season. Much was made of Mickey Rourke's "reincarnation" but it's there's more to it than that. Enjoy.

Top film, miles better than slumdog millionaire (which beat it for an oscar I believe). If you like it check out some of aronofskys other films like "requiem for a dream".

Thought it was brilliant, I'd also recommend Requiem for a Dream.

'The Wrestler' is terrific, as is 'Pi' and 'Requiem for a Dream'. I didn't like 'The Fountain' though. Also, I'm not a wrestling fan, so you can enjoy this.

I absolutely love Darren Aronofsky. He has to be one of the best directors out there at the moment - PI was wonderful and so was Requiem for a Dream. The Fountain was superbly well filmed and intricately well done. The Wrestler is a very heartfelt movie, with superb performances.

Every single one of his movies has starturning and potentially Oscar winning performances; Mickey Rourke was amazing in the Wrestler, the whole cast of Requiem for a Dream was superb (with special mention going to Marlon Wayans and Ellen Burstyn, who was robbed of the Oscar by Julia Roberts despite hers being a far superior performance - whoever didn't feel a pang in their heart or wellup during the
    Red Dress monologue
    and
the climax, when her friends see her at the psychiatric clinic and she's a shell of herself
have a heart of stone), and Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz had some real chemistry in the Fountain. I can't remember much of PI, as I saw it years ago but will definitely pick it up again.

To go back on topic, the Wrestler is a superb movie. Enjoy it.

Have it on DVD and it's class, one of the many fine films of 2008. Mickey for me should of won the Oscar. Milk wasn't Penn's best work never mind Oscar worthy.
