I am gutted this is off, my favourite racing day outside of the festival and the odd Stephens day.

Fair play to the clerk of the course abandoning it so early.

Nicky Henderson is looking to have the race run at Newbury, sounds like he has Binocular spot on and might be worried he will be overcooked next week.

Channel 4 are not televising it either because it's on so early but it's on Racing UK as far as I know,a nd it should be free because they do that first free hour thing on a Saturday.

    Peddler's Cross for me though!

I'd like to hear your reasoning on this. I'm not having a go btw.

I just can't see how Peddlers Cross, for all his potential can win.

He has almost 2 stone to find on official ratings against the current Champion Hurdler, the highest rated for years. And this will be over a trip which may prove to be short of his best.

I think it's another clear cut race similar to the betfair chase. Don't think too hard, steam into Binocular

I was on the plane to Newcastle when it was abandoned a couple of years ago.

I like Peddlers Cross at 33s for the Champion Hurdle. Granted he mightn't even run but that's reflected in the price. The Neptune has a far better record of supplying champion hurdlers than the supreme, he's already shown very good form over 2m and I don't think he's fully exposed yet either. Hardy Eustace was given a similar enough quote after his RSA win when everyone assumed he'd go for the stayers/chasing the following year.

I've gone to town on this horse for next March, backed him for the champion straight after he passed the post in Cheltenham last year, he could be a star. Binocular should still be favourite though imo, if I was Nicky Henderson or JP i'd have been happy enough with that run

    Id agree re Binocular.
