Buying AppleCare from the US Apple store

    Hi guys,

    Does anyone know if it's possible to buy AppleCare from the US Apple website, if one is located in Ireland? Could they deliver the code via email?

    .ie site is much more expensive!

    The US store won't deliver outside the US.

    have a look on ebay, there's a guy in cork who sells them very cheap.

    Ok, but does anyone know, do they email the AppleCare codes as well as ship the retail packaging, or is it the latter only? Or do they auto-enrol on purchase?

    If you buy from the online store, they ship the same box you purchase in retails. The only way that an APP is automatically registered is if you purchase it on the phone with AppleCare or (IIRC) if you purchase it at the same time as a Mac.

    Interesting.. and can I purchase over the phone from Ireland - without a US shipping address? Or do I give a random address? Once they register the APP over the phone to my Mac I'm happy. I don't need the retail box.

    You will need to provide an address. They give you the option of having your proof of coverage mailed or emailed, but they need a billing address for CC validation. I'm not sure if calling AppleCare US will get it registered to a non-US address, but I suspect they wouldn't.

    If you know someone over there, just get it shipped to them (works with Irish credit card) and have them email you the code from inside the box.

    Alternatively, use eBay. :)
