Well I'm not sure just how appropriate it is to post this thread here since it's more about a movie than a game. But it's a movie based on a PS3-exclusive so here I go...

The movie for Uncharted is coming together and it seems Mark Wahlberg is set to play Drake. And for some reason their bringing Drake's family into it: Robert De Niro as his Dad and Joe Pesci as his Uncle.

Personally my expectations aren't high after hearing this. Does anyone else think that Nathan Fillion would have been a much better fit for Drake and Bruce Campbell would have made an excellent Sully?

And another thing, Uncharted 3 might be announced soon.

Nolan North even looks like drake and does the voice but i would have preferred Fillion , not going to see this now.

His dad and uncle? what the hell are they doing.

Well not that i was excited by this or anything as Game Movies and crap anyway, but now they put Mark Wahlberg as Nathan, the guy cant act and is just himself in every movie.
And De Niro and Pesci, from glory days of GoodFellas to this. kinda sad.

Nathan Fillon would be a perfect Drake. I can't see this film being anything better than poor.

It'd be a crap movie compared to the games no matter who they got in to be honest (the quirk of having Nolan North in it being a possible exception). Uncharted it all about climbing, figuring out routes, not just shooting. Frankly it'll be Uncharted by name, not by nature.

I love Mark Wahlberg. I'm rather excited,no matter who they get to do it though it can't be as close to being as good as the game,it's just fantastic.

Nathan Fillan would be absolutely perfect. Mark Wahlberg didn't quite pull off max payne for me and that was one of my all time favourite games.

Bruce Campbell as Sully! Spot on! Sure isn't his character in Burn Notice (Don't watch it, but from an episode I seen) just Sully? Plus with Bruce and Nathan alongside eachother, you'd have two very witty leads! The supposed DeNiro/Pesci characters sound like an awful idea. Drake does not need to get "Made" and with the games being as impressive as they have been, this movie doesn't need to either!

Pretty much guaranteed to be a terrible movie.

    Wtf are they thinking????????

Awful choice of Wahlberg for the role of probably one of the best game characters ever. Nathan Fillion would have been good for this role but I think Joe Flanigan who played Colonel John Shepard in Stargate Atlantis would also had been good for this role. He looks like Drake and has the same witty one liners and dry sense of humour. I think Hollywood see this movie as another chance of re-inventing an Indiana Jones style series but with Wahlberg in the lead, its doomed to failure. Drake is basically a witty smart ar$e with strong morals but Wahlberg just comes across (in all his roles) as a grumpy, moody, morally conflicted, type.

    Again, Wtf are they thinking????????

    Nathan Fillion #1
    Joe Flanigan #2

Been my preference, in the Films forum, since there was talk of this being made.

Was watching an episode of Atlantis last night and again struck by how easily Flanigan could pull it off.

Fillion should be just cast in everything though. Playing to type in Castle, on Alibi, at the moment. Proves that he still has that great timing, to pull of the one-liners

I love Wahlberg, but he's obviously going to be a totally different Drake, which is a shame.

As mentioned above Nathan Fillion, was made for this role. The movie smells of terrible

    Just for some comparisons -

    Nathan Drake 321px-Nathan_Drake_Uncharted.jpg

    Mark Wahlberg 240px-Mark_Wahlberg.jpg

    Nathan Fillion 0919-fillion-227x300.jpg

    Joe Flannigan 250px-Joeflanigan.jpg

    Wikipedia says:
Wahlberg played the titular character in the Max Payne film based on the popular video games. Even though he was playing the character in the film, he stated that he was not going to play the games
    Dedication right there.

Joe Flanagan would make a good drake, his character in Atlantis was similar and he looks the part. I'd still go for Nathan Fillion though.

(I'll put my hands up and say I'm a huge Firefly fan so that might be swaying me!)

But Wahlberg... no,no, no, no, no, never, wrong, no, no, no, onions.
