I am trying to set an apt imm24 timer. I am setting the current time and the time I want the heating to come on ok. But the clock is not rotating around when I switch it over to clock, hence the heating is not coming on. Any ideas?

Is the clock going around too fast or what? Is there a reset switch on it.

did you pull out the segments to correspond with the time you want the heating to come on.

I pulled out all segments. Then pushed in the segments to correspond with the time I want the heating to come on. When I turn the clock manually it comes on and turns off fine, but noy when its on clock.

I'f I'm not mistaken, you did the opposite. I think you should pull out the ones you want the burner to come on.

No the OP is right-you push in the segments you want.
Is it a new switch? Presumably there is power going into it?
Does it work when you just have it on the on switch? Does the neon light come on?

They can go faulty, we used to get some of the back. If it's new you'll have no trouble replacing it.
