"The analysis was wrong and the advice was wrong. I take responsibility for that and I have never ducked that.”

Holy CRAP, is this guy for real? Anyone care to count the number of statements the government made including Cowen himself, completely denying responsibility for this and blaming a wide range of other factors from international crisis to Irish people's refusal to spend their money?

This is literally one of the most appalling statements I have ever read. It's up their with Bertie telling "doomsayers" to go and kill themselves back in '06.

That is a moot point, the point is and the big question is - what is exactly in the upcoming budget - considering the Recovery Plan (btw some cheek to charge 15euro for it and cost nothing to download it!) it was all very vague.... there's three things, lies, statistics and damned lies... and to watch what happens next - who is the person to step in.... maybe we all should have listened to Declan Ganly of Libertas.....

Funny you should say that, because I have half jokingly predicted elsewhere we could end up Declan Ganley running us.

If ff sign the ultra punitive 5 % plus interest rate bailout package from ECB/EU than I can see the rise of a far right anti EU party.

I am not allowed discuss …

Well... he campaigned for voting no second time round for Lisbon II, (I have posted a separate question in relation to that), I am thinking had we voted no, perhaps, we wouldn't be so well screwed and shafted by the french and germans?!

Don't get sarcastic - look, face something here.. a lot of people somehow turned out to be "economic experts" overnight, you included....

    - I have a small simpleton mind - but that is not to say I am stupid... so cut out the intonation.... bluffers - sheesh, this is what all of this is about - a nation of bluffers.... I was merely posing a question, not to get shot at....

I'm certainly no economic expert, but I can't see why people think Lisbon has made any difference or how we should have listen to Declan Ganley. Apologies about the sarcastic tone as well.
