Game Swap

    I recently skipped down to my local Gamestop with 9 PS3 games (At least 6 less than 1 year old) hopeing to trade-in and pick up a copy of COD Black Ops and Fifa 11.

    I was expecting to part with some of my hard earned money to complete the transaction. But what followed shocked me.

    I was offered €42 for all 9 games. Thats €4.66 per game.

    I did some research on game swapping and cannot find any Irish websites that will allow users to trade similar value games with each other.

    So I decieded to set up such a site.

    I am about 50% of the way there and am now looking for some feed back.

    The basic model will allow users to swap similar value games (ie. a new release for a new release) therefore maintaining the value of their game. Users will be able to "Offer" and "Request" games from the same value group. Once an "Offer" and "Request" by 2 users is matched both parties will send their game to us (Gameswap) where they will be checked and tested before the transaction is completed.

    Any feedback would be really appreciated!!

    There was a thread on the xbox forum for swaps , I did a few swaps on it and was happy. Do they have one over on the PS forum :confused:

    Either that or try adverts.ie (boards.ie sister site) , I have done swaps there in the past too but not recently.

    Would any of you use a service like this? Note that it will be completely FREE.

    To start I will categorise the games in groups of 10. Once an offer for all the games in a certain category has being made each user should then be eventually able to experience all 10 games. In effect a kind of share group will be formed.

    As a simple example in the "New Release" category you may have
    COD Black Ops
    Fifa 11
    Need For Speed

    If user A "Offers" COD, user B "Offers" Fifa 11, and User C "Offers" Need for Speed, then these 3 users will eventually be able to experience all there games.

    i think system is not needed, players can give theyr own values. as some people are on the hunt for some games, and they worth more for them.


    its a good idea. what were those games if not secret, i cant believe that you were offered 40 quid for 9 games, no matter what old they were!
