In order to drive the car straight ('07 Fiesta), I must turn the wheel at approx 1230 instead of 12oclock.
Whats needed to fix that would you say?
    Thanks in advance.

Might just need wheel alignment. It might also be down to bent components or a hard lnock off a kerb etc. If the car is driving well and not trying to pull you off the road in one direction or another, then a wheel alignment will fix it. Just be sure that you get someone who knows what they are doing. The steering must be locked in the dead ahead position and then the adjustments made. Its a simple process but its frightening the amount of times it gets done completely wrong.

I have the same problem with mine, I'm getting it sorted this week, drives fine but the wheel is tilted when going straight. You should be expecting to pay €30-40 for the alignment from what I've seen so far.

    How did it happen?
Did you buy the car like that?

It may be an earlier tracking that didn't deadlock the steering wheel.
A tracking will fix it, about 45 for a 4 wheel tracking - a bit less if you just need to fronts tracked.

Maybe the steering rack was replaced at some stage ?

You can correct this by lengthening one tie rod at one side and shortening the other by the same amount.

If the wheel is at 12.30, and you bring it back to 12, you will be heading for the ditch, right? So the passenger tie rod could be lengthened by a turn or part thereof (i.e. release the lock nut on the tie rod and unscrew it out of the trackrod end by one revolution) and do the opposite on the drivers side, screwing the tierod in by one revolution and tighten both locknuts. The overall alignment will not be adversely effected by this.

It could have happened by hitting the kerb or just because the mechanic adjusted the wrong side the last time the allignment was done.

Need to do that with mine too. Approx how much turn required for 10 deg? I dont want to overdo it and mess up the toe trying to fix it. Mine is always off no matter who does it but I'm fussy as hell. Always feels wrong when it's offset!

If you shorten one and lengthen the other by the same amount, you wont go too far wrong. Go a half turn or so at first and see how much that changes things.
