Just watched this, really not knowing what to expect it being a kids movie, but I have to say its a great film.
Tons of the GOOD actors/actresses, a dark image, original, funny and keeps you watching.

    Anyone else see this?

Yea saw it a while back. Its a good movie, dark but not too dark, decent cast, good comedic performance from Jim Carrey.

It's surprisingly dark for it's target audience, I would have thought. And it's a bit all over the place, plot-wise. But I think that may be due to being a load of the books condenced into one film. I really liked it. It's not often that I watch a film with child leads and don't want to strangle them.

It's a bit mad and disjointed alright, but I like it. It's good to see a kids movie that isn't afraid to be a bit on the dark side. Plus you can tell Carey relished the role. He plays an absolute stormer.

Really enjoyed this as well and have watched it on tv since, nice to have a darker humoured children's movie and Jim Carey is brilliant in it! Is there more in the series or was there just one book?

I saw it in the cinema and I really liked it. As someone said, the child leads were very good and so was Jim Carey. Dark and charming and I thought it was very well written. I wouldn't mind watching it again!

I love this film, it's a really good adaption. It only covers the first 3 books in the series but there are 13 in total. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the other 10 will ever be made into movies. If you like the film I'd totally recommend the books, they have the same weird style and dark sense of humour.
