Nope. If you actually do have such undeniable evidence (or even half way strong evidence, or even some strong reasonin) then I would change my mind.

    Can you say the same?

You must be the deluded prophet whose coming was foretold of in the lost section of the bible. (paragraph 2,subsection 1, line 12)

We have. The reasons for which are contained entirely within your original post.

Doesn't say that in mine, either. This must be a new definition of "undeniable proof" of which I wasn't previously aware.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Then what was the point of you starting this thread?

Maybe the point of the thread is satire.

In my 16ish years of asking for any evidence, argument, data or reasons to lend credence to the claim there is a god, the single most common response I get is a variation on “There is evidence, and I would tell you but….”

What comes after the “but” is variable. Common examples are:

“but you should find it yourself”
“but you would not accept it anyway”
“but you would not understand it”
“but it is not my place”
    “but you hate god anyway”
“but you should just have faith”

Whatever the variable part is however the meaning is invariably the same. The person is claiming there is evidence but is giving you some cop out or other to get out of actually telling you what it is.

So either there is a vast conspiracy of people keeping this evidence from us… or the people who claim there is evidence “but” are simply lying and have no idea if the evidence exits or if it does, what it actually is.

So I am guessing (only guessing) that the OP has encountered similar lies and is making some satire based on it.

I already know what happens at the end.

But I'm not going to tell any of you cos I don't want to spoil it for you.

(disappointed sigh!). With a thread title like that I was expecting a few Christina Hendricks pics.

If you're talking about scientific proof then at the moment , no. There may never be proof for the being\experience\state of being that people call 'God'. The word used in a lot of mystic texts esp Eastern material is 'ineffable' , it's indescribable when the attempt is made with spoken language or linear comprehension. It's like trying to imagine infinity in your 'normal' everyday state of mind , it's impossible.

A lot of people are hung up with the idea of God as an external being who you relate to as you would to other humans. They scoff at the idea of the beardy man in the sky when there are many different interpretations of what the word 'God' can mean. ( Father issues maybe?)

There's an old fable , it could be Sufi , I'm not fully sure on that though. It basically goes like this ( It's very simplistic for the sake of comprehension ) ,

A man dies and arrives at the gates of heaven where he is met by the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper greets him and says 'Welcome home son'. The man who has lived a good life but has remained cynical about the afterlife says , "How do I know that all of this is real and it is not just a trick of my dying brain?'.

The man then heard a chorus of voices from the other side of the gates , "Let him in he's one of us!!".

I'm not looking for arguments with atheists , you can believe what you want as long as you're not hurting anybody in my book. I would recommend that for those who find belief in the ineffable hard to stomach that they at least try to explore ( safely ) the systems which are in place for at least the attempted direct experience of what is called 'God'.
