Im 16 and im full time employed. I find it a pain in the sphincter that I am unable to use my Maestro/AIB Laser card on websites abroad. Most especially Paypal :(

I know of all the prepaid credit cards out there like Rubycard, Entropay, Neteller, etc but none of them are available to me as I am under 18 years of age.

    Anyone got a solution? :D

Can you get a Visa Debit Card?

Only thing is, at the moment they are only available with Ulster Bank.

The Visa Debit card is the same as Visa Credit Card, but the money has to be in the account for you to buy anything. It is also available to use most places a Vise Credit Card is. And it can be used on PayPal.

The only other prepaid card I know of it a 3v card, but I am not sure if it is available to anyone under 18.

I switched my bank from AIB, to Permanent TSB and I received a Visa Debit Card with the "Teen account".
Pretty sure you can get one 16-18. Works for Paypal. It's great.

Might be a long term solution.

If you are under 18, then you will have had to lie to open a Paypal account. They can (and do) close accounts if they realise this, and any money you had in the account could be forfeit.

    I am aware of this.

Im in D9 so going to Blanch without any sort of car or anything is not plausible. My question is there an option for me that I can top up through my bank account. If I was to buy a disposable card I could just use 3V which I have in the past.

16 and fulltime employed, wow! Excuse the off-topicness, but what is it that you do?

A few banks have a Visa debit card, Permanent TSB for example, as far as I know all their bank cards have visa debit functionality. Pretty much the best thing since sliced bread I love it.

Before I had the Visa Debit I used a 3V card and there is also the 02 money card. There are fees with both of these as far as I know and it is annoying having to go and get the top up but it is better than nothing.

First I would look into the Visa Debit and if all else fails go with the 3V, you only have to be over 16 to get one.

Don't bump old threads for pointless reasons. Actually, don't bump old threads at all.
