    Hey Guys

So I want to get the OH an iPhone4. He is Meteor and really doesn't want to change provider or to billpay but would love to get an I Phone.

So what I need to know is
    • If I buy a SIM free IPhone from Apple.ie or an irish apple store can he put his meteor sim in and remain Pay As you Go
    • Will it still be possible for him to download all the available apps for the phone
    Thats all
    Thanks :)

yeah he can get a meteor microsim or else cut his own sim down, cutting it though can render it useless and he'd have to get a microsim then

Most meteor stores have micro sims in stock now. Go in and get a blank one for free asap. Order the phone. If your giving the present on xmas day, just wait till the meteor shop opens again and transfer the number from the old sim card on to a micro sim. It will take 2mins. At worst the present will be useless for 1-2days until a meteor shop opens and you can transfer the number.

at worse the present will be useless for one hour :)
get the microsim now, if they ask in store to transfer the number, tell them no wait, that you want to wait for your phone to arrive.

    keep the microsim somewhere safe.
then on xmas day give the other half the phone and the micro sim, ring customer care and do a sim swap.

its done there and then, he can use the phone straight away.

*reason i say an hour is because its xmas day, loads of kiddies getting new phones, customer care may be busy and you'll be on hold a little longer.

He can use it as an iPod until you get the micro sim.
