Ski insurance for entire season

I'm heading to Whistler for the season and am having a hard time finding a winter sports policy that covers me for more than two weeks. If anybody could suggest some insurers I'd be really grateful- don't fancy forking out for airlifting and surgery by myself :D

I got a policy from 123.ie last year to cover me for the season in New Zealand, as well as the likes of heli and off piste as well which you won't normally get in the basic packages.

robinph I know the guy that owns 123 and they only do 17 day cover on there multi trip that covers everything but only covers off piste with a guide! Trust me If I could give my friend the business I would

There multi trip is really good though

Two best season cover providors are Dogtag and Skiclub.co.uk (You dont have to be a member to get policies)

I know guys that have used the below and reccomend them

    Ski Insurance.co.uk

    JS Insurance

Was only a single trip one I had, just a very long single trip.

I can't quite remember, but I think I did have to speak to them to get it as they didn't have the options I needed available online, they certainly don't appear to have what I took on their online forms at the moment.

Check FYI.ie, i got insured for a year with these guys, they cover winter sports etc and have a very comprehensive range of items /outcomes etc covered.

You'll need to check the time limit per trip as there may be a stipulation that you are only covered aborad for a certain time.

If on an annual policy it states 2 weeks skiing covered, how do they know how many trips you have taken?

Most polocies will do the following

    17-23 DAYS SKIING PER YEAR

COVER OFF PISTE WITH A GUIDE - In Europe once you leave the piste markers (Poles at the side of the piste) you are off piste even if it is only 4 feet you are off piste and not insured!!!

Others will cover Heli Skiing, or Off piste with a local with adequate knowledge.VHI Cover is crap they will not even give you a proper definition of off piste for North America.

No idea how they will check days away but I am sure they will ask for statments over a year etc to see where you where spending your money.

Take a long hard look at the policy as some cover is quite poor.

Fattes, the dogtag cover you mentioned doesn't seem to be available to anyone outside the UK. Have you used them yourself, and if so, how did you get them to cover you? I went through their website a bit and they seem to offer pretty good comprehensive policies, and the prices aren't ridiculous.

Any of the normal travel insurance companies seem to also do it, just get a quote for a single trip, but as said above, it will be a long trip! i've tried 123.ie and getcover.com so far. both have things I noticed and wasn't overly fond of. One had a low limit per item for equipment, and I can't remember the other one.

Haven't got around to the rest yet, but hopefully will soon.

Just finished looking for my own insurance for the season (canada bound as well) and i think im gona go with ace insurance (google em).
4month cover comes in at about 130 ish which is'nt bad.

used em for previous seasons but thankfully never had need for them......(touch wood)
