I've just been given a new frame. Ho do I check that it fits?

hey, I might be keeping it as I now have a crankset that matches(sugino mighty), or selling as a pair.

by 'fit' do you mean compatibility with your cranks or bike frame?

    That's exactly what I mean.

The frame is a Trek 5000 oclv carbon 120.

ye more than likely it will fit. if the bike was sold for the Irish/Uk market it would have british threads in the bottom bracket shell(68mm wide).
If it was Italian or French you would need something different as they use different threading standards

it gets complicated by the fact that the square taper is neither JIS nor ISO, so you would need to match it with the right vintage crankset.

you might be better off going with a,modern bottom bracket which is 1 solid unit with the spindle contained inside, it would allow you to use more modern components. Campag use the ISO standard with their square taper bottom brackets, Shimano use JIS

I might be interested in this, any pictures available?
I might need a longer bb on my Merckx(plus it would match the rr mech :) )
How much for the pair if they only go together?
