Because China is, always was, and always will be better than everyone else in the world at everything.

It's probably built like one of those fake iphones - all nice on the outside and noting but crap inside.

Yea, and like all things made in china, will probably last 4 days

Was it the big spider that knocked it over?

That building is supposed to be able to withstand a level 9 earthquake.

Health and Safety? Doesn't exist in China.
    Here's a photo I took of a 100+ storey skyscraper under construction.

That video doesn't show the ground works.

I remember working with a builder where we arrived at a site, dug the foundations and 8 weeks later someone was living in the house.

Aye, the walls on this building survived even though it fell down - http://www.zonaeuropa.com/200906c.brief.htm#012

    So did the glass windows?

ok so it may have been put up in 2 days but clearly was not built in 2 days as all the stuff was premade, probably over months and months

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 7,943 Mod ✭✭✭✭Yakult

If you gave the same machinery and those premade fabrications to Irish developers they would take months to do it and would over budget by €4 million.

they build them faster because they dont need the ceilings too high!

I fully agree! I've lived in China and saw for myself that Health and Safety is non existant in China. In general there is no value put on human life there.

That's just the shell that went up from what I could see, it didn't look modular so the interior still has to be done.

The Chinese have a lot of night time for two days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭aidan24326

The workers probably built it under the threat of a public hanging if they missed the two day deadline. Motivating the staff, China style.

I think it's part of the new Chinese space program.
They're just going to keep building upwards.

Efficiency time is down a lot since the 5th Century BC. Well done China!

Why can't we do things like this?

Planning permission would be denied on the grounds that it is high.
