My internet was running really slow, was jumpy and I decided to fix it myself. So I deleted all the cookies etc.. from the internet, still carp. Googled what to do, msconfig and pretty much disable all the start up programmes except the antivirus, turn back on computer and it looks like windows 95 or something but the internet is working perfectly so I don't mind this asthetic problem. Then I realise there's no sound, "the audio service is not running" and I can't figure out how to get it back. I'm currently downloading a driver form Realtek and hope that works or alternatively I'll go back to a restore point and start the process again.
Any help that could be given would be great.

You may have stopped the audio service in services from running, depending on version of Windows this may be just "Windows Audio" make sure its set to auto and start it if its stopped.

You probably disabled services using msconfig.

If you go to Start -> Run
    Type msconfig
On the general tab select "Normal Startup" and click ok.
    Restart the PC.

You should be back to square one at least.

Download / Update and run scans with malwarebytes and Super anti Spyware removing anything found.

Update your Antivirus and scan removing any problems.

Did you run the spyware scans.

Download Google chrome or firefox instead of IE.
