Serviced apartment in Edinburgh - personal recommendations?

hi all,

Heading to Edinburgh for a weekend in Feb, looking for self catering apartment fairly close to Princes Street (within 15 mins walk).

Its a rugby weekend so all the hotels are crazy expensive, but some of the self catering options are not as bad.

So far I'm looking at Dean St. Mews & The Marchmont House in Bruntsfield, but just wondering if anyone on here has stayed in apartments in Edinburgh recently & could give personal recommentations of where to avoid or where to go for?

Thanks a mill, I'm totally torn as there is so much choice but really dont want to end up somewhere miles from town and/or grotty

great location, very close to princes street and rose street. the place was really clean and nice, great for a group. not sure what prices would be like for a rugby weekend as we were there for a golfing weekend. there's a sainsbury about a 10 minute walk to get provisions too (just at the start of rose street).

Try Fountain Court apartments - they've a couple of different sites around Edinburgh, all very convenient. They sent me a promo email today advertising the rugby weekends so they must still have availability.

Hi,

We stayed here in May this year - its just off the Royal Mile, very close to everything.

The apartments are lovely, spotless, spacious & well laid out. The staff were great too, very friendly.
