    Cena fired.
All titles retained expect Laycools unified Divas title as Beth Phoinex made her return helping Nattie become the new champ.

Some good wrestling to start the PPV some big storylines to end it. What did you think and what do you think it will lead to?

Man, the main event was a bit of a let down. It was boring without any tension between Orton and Cena. They could have done it so much better and I suppose it just goes to show that even when WWE set up something well they still end up executing it poorly.

And what was the story with Cena randomly hugging Cole?

Even the heel version of Cole has been a massive mark for Cena, I think its to make him more hated amongst the internet fans who Cole seems to dispise! I'm sure its just WWE playing up to that.

Disappointed with the PPV to be quite honest. Miz should have cashed in tonight instead of teasing.

Loved the first 3 matches. Happy Morrison went over Sheamus.

Miz cashing in at TLC makes more sense and will enhance his heel character.

Great opening series of matches. Last 3 matches were where I felt seriously annoyed I didn't go to bed!

I really hope Miz is the first one to try to cash in MiTB and fail. He's just getting on my nerves now really.

I slept thru the Kane-Edge match, the tag titles and about 80% of the WWE championship match  I just wanted to see how they would end the show and boy did I wish I had slept right on thru!!

I didn't expect a conclusion to the Nexus/Cena story as the would be far too premature in my view. I was just more disappointed that they booked such a horrendously boring match. They could at least have had a few moments where Cena had doubts about what he would do and create tension. Or something like how they booked Shawn Michaels as referee in the Bret Hart/Undertaker title match from Summerslam 1997.

I think he will fail, I just don't think he is ready for that main event spot yet, regardless of if it's on Raw or Smackdown.

But I would like to see him get a babyface push before Wrestlemania, he could get over with the fans more as a likeable goofball.

I`d have miss cash it in after mania win it then have Danielson cash in his Briefcase(that he`d win at mania) to defeat The Miz.It`d be overbooking a bit but it`d be great to have them stay rivals a bit like HHH and The Rock.

I can't see Danielson ever making it as a main eventer in WWE, I think he could have a great run with the US Title tho.

The first four matches were great (though I would've liked to see DiBiase/Bryan and Ziggler/Kaval both get a little more time) then the rest of the show sucked. One thing stood out though, Alberto Del Rio is amazing - the way he stood in Big Show's face smiled and then winked at him was fantastic, the man exudes star quality.

I was thinking the same thing, he oozes charisma, def cross between The Rock and JBL.

But don't forget that Miz has to cash in before WM, otherwise his MITB will expire.

This guy is sheer class, fantastic on the mic, great wrestler and with an MMA background. Even his Spanish waiter lookalike ring announcer is perfect in his role.

    Future WHC i'm sure.

I thought it was one year from when he won it, and seeing how he won it at the MITB PPV and not WM, surely he'll have til after WM to cash it in, although I can see it coming to an end soon!

I enjoyed the show. Bryan vs DiBiase and Kaval vs Ziggler were great matches which had me going a few times. The five on five was good in that the good guys won but it actually protected Del Rio and gives him something to whine about ("I was never defeated"). Kane vs Edge was ok but the ending annoyed me; I thought draws meant the title was vacated? And my problem with the Orton/Wade match is that while the ending shocked me, it was also the least interesting possible ending. It was weird seeing him walk around as if he was leaving but we all know that Cena will be one no longer than a month...

I'm thinking Cena winning the Rumble, with Wade Barrett having won the title in the previous match, is a way they could go.

don't know how they will write around the 'fired' part of it all though.

    A few possibles could be:

They just blatantly ignore the story and have Cena appear and challenge all of Nexus to a match. Cena could appear in the front row at an event under the guise of "he bought a ticket blah blah blah"

Some sort of idiotic character in a mask a la Hulk Hogan

General manager or Vince McMahon over rule the decison and re-instate him as happened when Undertaker lost the career match against Edge.

Basically there is an entire history of ignoring retirement stipulations ripe for re-use!

Even some of those if done right could be good tbh. The Vince McMahon one for instance:

Vince had woken from his comma (though i doubt that skit will ever be referenced again) and is not a fan of Nexus. Perhaps after returning vs Sheamus his son in law HHH will be called up to fight against Nexus who have run amock on Vince's flagship show ever since they got rid of John Cena. They used the numbers game to take out Orton and obtain the title for Wade Barett and with the backing of the then revealed GM (just for the sake of someone believeable) Micheal Cole are calling the shots on Raw. despite a Superman esque like performance however the numbers once again are too much for HHH until Vince reveals that to stop Barett and Nexus he has brought back John Cena (he was fired, didnt retire, no reason he cant be re-hired). The reveal is made at the Rumble where after Wade succesfully defends his title against HHH thanks to outside interferance Cena makes his triumphant return in the Royal Rumble which he wins earning a shot at Barett at WM.

Barett & Cole go nuts at Vince going over the GMs head with this move and the road to WM has started with Cole continiously booking Cena in intentionally difficult matches to soften him up for Wade culminating in maybe a Nexus (minus Wade) vs Cena handicap match at Elimination chamber (while Wade defends against several contenders in an EC match) or all of Nexus plus Cena in an EC match. Then the final blowoff to the biggest feud of the year in the WWE at Mania with Wade vs Cena for the title.

Hell if there was an eventual heel turn the above would even work as Cena could side with Cole the man he hugged as he left at Survivor Series. the above made up nonsense would leave The Undertaker without an apponent at WM as the 2 most suggested would be facing each other but maybe the WWE would go another direction and try to get a big name in for a 1 off vs Taker to get his 19-0 before he faces heel Cena (for him vs Taker he would be semi heel no matter what imo atleast in the older fans eyes) vs Taker. Goldberg, Sting, Lesnar (all not likely i know), who knows...

that felt just like a rant but less depressing to write :)

My initial guess would also go to the Vince idea as well....

If I can toot my own horn I did predict Cena would get fired in this storyline before Bragging Rights :pac: Glad to see WWE taking my advice :P

Here's how I see it playing out.

Tonight's RAW : Cena gives his farewell speech.

No Cena for the rest of the year. Barrett doesn't get the title this side of Mania at least.

January's Rumble : just like when Orton won it; i.e. with several Nexus members, Barrett's on route to winning the Rumble. Backstage someone gets knocked out; and Cena takes his place, unannounced. Cena eliminates Barrett. Cena is forced to exit the Rumble as he's mobbed by security.

Elimination Chamber : Surprise! Cena costs Barrett winning the title again.

RAW between EC and Mania : An enraged Barrett demands a match with Cena; with Cena's career on the line vs some crap plot device.

Mania : Barrett and Cena finally wrestle and Cena gets his big win and his job back.

This way, the plot centers around Barrett and Cena with Miz and Orton clear to do whatever with the WWE title. Cena never compromises his principles and leaves the Nexus whilst preventing Barrett from becoming champion and finally gets his job back at Mania.

I can see that happening but I think David Otunga will get involved in this as well. They way it's been going on the past couple of weeks, their forming a rift between Otunga and Barrett within Nexus. Maybe Otunga will interfere on behalf of Cena or something in the weeks ahead??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Yeah, no idea how Otunga would fit in in the long term; he could well do that. tbh i'm surprised he didn't lead Nexus in a 4-on-4 Survivor Series match win last night. A huge oversight to be sure. I honestly think Otunga's face turn will be awful and will probably lead him to be fired!!

They probably could've even just had Otunga/Gabriel/Slater/Hennig vs Santino/Kozlov/Sheamus/Morrison and have Sheamus beat up Morrison; eliminating both and leaving Nexus to pick up the scraps. The matches they did book could've waited!

I think there might be something in Cena hugging Cole but not King or Striker. Maybe I'm still pinning my hopes on a Cena turn at Mania.

I hope Cena isn't on Raw tonight. Maybe do a video interview with him or something. I suppose a farewell speech would be acceptable but they need to try and actually live up to this stipulation. I like the idea of Vince waking up and reinstating him down the line.

I just hope there is a long-term plan here that results in something special. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment.

In fairness to the E, thy are still doing something right if we are still going over the possible places this story could go from here! Well done them!

I think everyone knows how bad otunga will be when and if he turns....he can't work, is annoying on the mic, is arrogant beyond belief for someone with no skill, he can't act and I wish he would just f*ck off!

    Taken from Rajah.com;

-- Among those hugged by John Cena following the result of the WWE Championship Match at the Survivor Series was Michael Cole, which appears peculiar given the Raw announcer's heelish persona. The two are close behind the scenes and was done to add realism to the storyline of Cena being fired from WWE.

Said I'd post that up as I know some were wondering why he did that.
