I usually fly to cork once a week for work
But this week due to some complications I'm getting the train, just received my booking details and city gold service and seats, any idea what the advantage of this is? Thanks

It used to be free breakfast (and better seats), I'm not sure if they do the breakfast anymore.

Thanks Paul. Out off curiosity I checked the ticket prices from standard vs city gold and it's 70 vs 140, so twice the price for leg room?? Irish rail are thiefs! Thankfully it's not me paying!

There was never any free food.

The benefits (for what its worth) are:
    Wider seats
At-seat catering for purchase (full meals served)
    Free newspapers
Powerpoints at seat (ludicrously not available anywhere else) on the Mark 4 stock.

To be honest the benefit is (generally) a quieter area where you can work without disturbance.
