hey all. I am currently trying to put on weight

when I decided I wanted to start lifting weights - I relised that I was seriously under eating and feeling drained as a result.
so about 5 weeks ago I started making time to eat,
I have found it quite hard to stick to it, but its going well, the odd day I may skip a meal due to work, but have been fairly steady.
its been hard work, but I put on half stone

I would like some advice on my diet, since over all Im putting on weight which is good, I am getting a bit of fat belly too
am I eating too much fat?

My aim is to be 13 stone by Christmas

    height 5.9
current weigh 11 and half stone
was 11 stone 5 weeks ago (post weight lifting program + weight gain diet)

below is an example of what I ate yesterday

You don't seem to be eating much fat at all. You do seem to be eating a lot of carbs and sugar though. Get rid of the bowl of ice-cream and replace it with milk and whey powder. I'd also stop eating the weetabix for breakfast and replace it with porridge or eggs, much more nutritious.

    thanks for the reply

Ill get rid of the ice cream

I had started out on porridge, but it was giving me seriously bad indigestion.....................and really bad gas ;)

some days I replace the chicken Brest for eggs -

so I will eat eggs for breakfast, and have various beans for lunch in place of the eggs?

how many eggs is it safe to eat in one day?
I could double up two in the morning and two in the evening?

I eat 3 - 6 eggs on a normal day, some here would eat even more. Don't worry, dietary cholesterol doesn't increase your blood cholesterol levels, and eggs are some of the most nutritious foods you can eat.

GOMAD - Gallon of Milk a Day.

I did it before and put on a stone in around a month/5 weeks. Some days I wouldn't quite have the full gallon but would try get as close to the gallon as possible.

It does work from my experience.

dose this just make you fat? or will it be overall bulk?
I would be concerned that GOMAD would just keep adding to my belly, despite working out.

    thanks for the reply

one and a half stone is a lot to gain between now and christmas so if you are committed to that number some of it will be fat. At 11.5 stone I can't imagine you being chubby, but if you don't want to drink a gallon of milk every day (and I don't think its necessary for you), you could try increasing the size of your breakfast and snacks to include some more protein and carbs.

the problem isnt overall chubbyness, while I'm really gald to put putting on weight, but Im getting a fairly big belly, and I was concernd this was a bad sign.
my intention was to bulk by eating and lifting weights, and was worried that a belly might very hard to shift if I put one a lot of weight so fast.

I'm probably setting my weight gain goal too high.

    thanks again for the reply's
