Sorry to jump on your thread OP, but I'd also like to know which is better because I've previously taken Eskimo and am currently taking MorEPA.

Both I find are really expensive by the way, so if there were a cheaper alternative I'd appreciate suggestions.

And I guess I'd prefer to know which has a higher DHA & EPA, rather than Omega 3.

    Thanks!

Generally, for adults, go for the higher level of EPA. Dr Kathleen Kendall Thacket www.uppitysciencechick.com has done a lot of work on the theraputic use of fish oil, and she reckons go by the EPA.

I did see a veggie EPA oil in some health food shops which had a very high dose of EPA. Can't remember the name, but I'm sure the shop would know.

Cool website if not a little harsh on the aul' eyes. :)

I think you need DHA:EPA in the ration of 1.5:2 (this is generally the ratio in fish give or take). DHA is more anti-inflammatory, where as EPA has a more potent anti-depression action.

I'm not sure about the safety of long term fish oil supplementation anymore though.. some untoward data coming out from trials > 3 years long.

At the end of the day:

    Oily fish >>>>>>> Fish oil

There is much more EPA in a morEPA capsule than an Eskimo capsule
In 3 Eskimo there is 240 mg of EPA
In 1 morEPA there is 580

In 1veggie EPA there is 240 I think

I have a vague memory that the Veggie EPA worked out far cheaper for the dose of EPA you'd need.

    I really don't know
I know it contained quiet a bit of omega 6
But this is generally pro inflammatory and would negate the good anti inflammatory effects of the EPA
