Good man Rabbitte. Labour and Rabbitte have shown themselves to still have a bit of passion for this country and for government, unlike FF and their cronies.

Wow, good timing, I was just about to ask who that was that Pat Rabbitte* was tearing into. I didn't know who he was but he looked like he wanted to punch someone.

*Or as my mother likes to call him after mishearing a newsreader a while ago, "Labour's pet rabbit."

Whatever was said was to gain the publics favourable opinion. I don't like any politician at the moment. They are all playing the like/ dislaike game game.

Pat lashed some FF bullsh!t artist out of it right to his face. It was verbal slaughter and very articulately delivered! Good man!!! Get in!!!

Pat Rabitte absolutely laid into Pat Carey. Raised voices, passionate speech, told him straight that they couldn't give two shíts what happened to Ireland and asked him very bluntly to get the hell out of government buildings.

Raised voice...phrases such as you should be ashamed of yourself, our independence gone, liars, etc. It was a great show and just bumped up Labours ratings in the polls again.

    Edit - snap sdonn!

    Not defending FF at all!

But this is just cheap show boating on Labours part, loads of sound bites but NO policies.

Look at it deeper, theres no substance there!

Terrible situation, wouldn't want to be in the Public service now, they should be gearing up to a 30% to 50% pay cuts from lower to higher paid servants, and if they dont like it, good luck, no unions will be able to help them now!

    I was supposed to go up to Donegal South-West this weekend to campaign for Labour but couldn't because it's very close to exam time! So to compensate for this, I'll simply say;

    VOTE LABOUR!!

No doubt, and the good Mr. Rabbitte is better at it than most. Still bloody entertaining, though.

I agree with what you say gpjordan but it was still great to hear! Bit of cheap show boating but even so everything he said was the truth! God knows what was going through Careys head when he was on the receiving end of that

We get the cheese, but have to pay it off over the next 5 years.

Oooh... can't wait to see this!

With respect, you can talk of depth, and substance... but FF are thoroughly despised by 100% of the mentally stable population right now. Let us enjoy a little moment when one of their goons (Pat Carey is their finest piece of cannon fodder to date - regularly wheeled out on Vinnie Browne to take the punches) gets a good talking to.

There's little FG, Lab or anyone else for that matter can now do to fix the mess FF have made. If Pat Rabbitte has talked that snide little rat Carey into the ground on telly - he's done the country a service.

This is just bull that right-wingers spread and is simply not true, have a little wee look at their website. Also, look up the progressive economic think-tank TASC, which Labour have taken most of the inspiration for their economic policies from.

It's easy shout the odds when your opponent is down and out.

Give us answers/options Labour, point scoring does US no favours.

I think we're short a lot of options due to that opponent and his ilk. I see Pat Rabbittes tirade for what it is but god help us it was well deserved.

Piece of theatre? Come on! Look at the times! yes it was a bit dramatic but how else can you get the point across anymore?! The country is in pieces and what he said was bloody right and long overdue! Whether it was Labour or whoever is irrelevant!

FG, being as right wing as FF, might turn out to be every similar to FF. Irish people need to understand that the country needs true change!

Yes I have read Labour policies and am very nervous if the get in! Seriously worried for my daughters future and shes only 2. My future is screwed but I've accepted that, if Labour get in then its my daughters future thats in doubt! That I wont stand for!

Pat Rabbitte is great at talking, but damn all use when it comes to ideas as to how to get us out of this mess.

Over the last 2 years I've not heard one idea come out of his mouth.

Very like the rest of labour in that regard.

Add to that the fact that friends of Labour have partially caused this country to go broke. The unions in this country have been given way too much over the years. Unions were created to protect workers from abuse and to gain decent pay and conditions for an honest day's work, not to financilly rape the country.

No point in being furious and delivering speeches. That's how the Dail has made people so fed up. They're like a crowd at a gaa club AGM mixed with a group of 6 year olds on the playground with the utter nonsense they go with in there.

    It's beyond embarrassing.

How exactly are labour going to give us options when they,re not in government. Its FF who should be supplying the answers.

erm, Labour regard themselves as Democratic Socialists/ Social Democrats, so I'd imagine they would be. Seriously though, Labour have some majorly liberal policies in comparison to other parties. The Irish Labour Party isn't as conservative as the British 'New' Labour Party.
