    Hi,

After the heavy rain we have had in the last few days i noticed a lot of condensation on the car windows in the morning. I took a look in the back seat and both rear seats were very wet, lifting them up there was a small pool of water underneath them. I checked the boot and it seems like water is running down the rear of the car, behind the left light cluster and onto the wire running into the light. This seems to be the where the water is coming from but i cant be sure.

There doesnt seem to be a rubber seal around either rear light, Does anyone know if there should be one or if this is a common problem and how it can be fixed?

I'm trying the drain hole fix this weekend before ordering a new seal. Loads of threads on seatcupra.net at the moment on leaky seats...

    Howdy all

Mate of mine has a 2005 polo and the back seats are getting pretty wet.

All door and boot seals are fine, I have read about a weld failure in the

rear wheel arches and the wet does seem to be coming from that direction.

Has anyone come across this before and know the easiest fix..

    Thanks in advance

    Bryan.

I just merged your thread with this one as the issue seems almost identical.

My Polo is suffering from the same issue...

My car is suffering from the same problem, coming in from somewhere around the arch. I'd also be interested to hear of easy fixes.

If it's anything like my 00 Golf, the rear washer jet hose tends to come loose, (it's a bad design) and when it's operating You can hear the water trickling down along the rear pillar and also soaking the interior lining.

This may not be the case on the polo but as it has not been mentioned I thought I'd highlight it.

This is the case with that model Polo actually. Although i know it's not a problem in mine as i've checked it before. It is worth checking though.

When I bought mine the washer was leaking and I just put it back in and it hasn't come off again since but if it does I'll try taping it as well.

    Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has had a result with the 'Polo' issue? I have a 05 polo and the backseats are soaking through. I brought it to a garage who checked the car for leaks and could not find any - I thought the condensation was caused by a faulty windscreen but after getting it changed and the car valeted, the seats are wet again.

Im pulling my hair out trying to find a solution - I see someone mentioned weld failure in rear wheel arches and it seems that the issue comes from the back of the car but there is no obivious entry point from water.

    Any quick tips?

The one I was looking at was the rear light clusters, took em off and sealed with silicone, jobs a good un.

I have the exact same problem, how much does this cost to fix and who should I take the car to... Does a normal garage have facilities to fix the problem?

    Hi,
My polo had that problem and any VW garage should be able to fix it, the line supplying water to the rear window leaks down the C pillar (between back door window and small window to the rear) but its a simple job. An independent garage mightn't know how to spot it but I went to Parkes garage in Ballysadare Sligo to sort it out, cost me €20 I think.....
