What to do to get away from Vodafone?

    Hi,

My contract with VF is up on 6th January. I am on the perfect 400 at €69/month. Its too expensive for what I have from it as I rarely text.

Anyway, I am aware that if I move to another provider now, I would have to pay the rest of my monthly fees for breaking the contract.

If, when this billing month is up (6th December), I change to the lowest possible tarrif with Vodafone, will I still only be in contract until January or does changing your tarrif automatically make it another 12 month deal?

I am thinking of moving after the 6th December and give Vodafone 28 days notice etc.

I want to change to 3 and get a smartphone (free Samsung with the Independent) I know 3 is an 18 month contract, but I would envisage having a phone for another 18 months. The 3 tarrif I am looking at is only €45/month.

I dont want to go Meteor or emobile as their coverage aint great and I travel round the country a lot.

Any experience or advice is appreciated.

If you want to switch to Three before your contract is up you'll pay the remaining months x your minimum tarrif price

But if I change my tarrif in December to €19/month, will I have to pay 1 month x €19, or 1 month x my original €69 tarrif.

If it is only 19 then I will change to three in December
