I was looking at houses for sale on Daft ie and wondered what inspired the person to take this photo.
Is it trying to be artistic? Is the chair of some significance? Maybe it was sat on by someone famous?
    Any ideas?

Yes, I think chairs are trendy items to have in house selling photos!

Jeeze I think we had lino like that back home sometime in the 70s ?

Maybe the chair adds a sense of scale or maybe they are just pi** poor at cop or just too lazy to move the damm thing ?

BTW are you thinking of buying ?

I am not allowed discuss …

No, I'm not buying - just interested because someone I know bought in the area a year ago.
Looks as if the agent or seller gathered up some of the clutter as it's piled onto the armchair!

Looks like someone probably died there. Chances are it's haunted and there'd be wiggle room in the price....Maybe they died in one of the feature chairs....

Sweet baby jeebus what is that stain behind the chair on the wallpaper?? Looks like some aul fella spent a few decades leaning up against it oozing. Or spent some time leaning against it after carking it. Shudder.

    It's a load-bearing chair.

The picture in the second post makes me think that if I had to live with that wallpaper/lino combo the chair would be the one I'd kick from underneath me once I was sure I'd knotted the noose correctly.

Photos on property ads are a joke. Once I see a house has only one photo I immediately skip over it. Must have some reason they won't show the inside.

Another example of amateurism from EAs.
