here's my issue got a tattoo done there last week there was pictures showing his work i asked to get one as i liked it
so to cut a long story short i came back twice for this to be done and it looks completely **** compared to the picture that was shown
it was clearly a rush job coming up to closing time
as his mate had popped in.
now im left with this for life
i went into day for him to fix it as i had touched it up using microsoft paint application on my computer to show how awfull it looked
and it looks way better but i got fobbed off to ring in two weeks and if not busy he will fix it up
so just wondering where do i stand on this situation as im stuck with this s.hit for life while he pockets €150 and i also have the picture of what it should have been and to what mine is so is anything possible

I don't think you can take him to court, i'm pretty sure you get tattooed at your own descression. Your right that he shouldn't have done it quickly coming up to closing time.

Your best bet is to get laser removal treatment, it usually €50 per session and will take a few session to remove it (if it's really that bad it's worth the price to get rid of something you don't want to have to look at for the rest of your life. Oh and don't try and get it covered up you will probably end up with something ten times worse.

Try going to a good tattooist and see if they can fix it for you, give it a touch up. If your able to get to Dublin City Center Wild Cat Ink in St. Stephens Green are very good, i got a few tattoos there myself and they helped me with fixing my shoddy tattoos.

Hope this helps you out mate, i know what a pain a bad tattoo is.

thanks for that mate been thinking that me self
i was thinking small claims court somehow?
ill give them a shot its noting too major a touch up would do it as he's left out stuff and colours and colours are different then what they are in the picture
given him 150 for something that he has shown as his work for something that is totally different to what i was given just bugs me so much as its goin to cost loads for a touch up :(

There's no reason why you can't take a tatooist to court.

If you engaged him to do a tatoo and its not the one you wanted, his actions constitute an assault and battery, similar to a surgical procedure not consented to.

If it comes down to a question of quality, a sufficiently large gap between outcome and expectations as explained by the tatooist can also qualify.

If you say 'its nothing to major' and can be fixed then you should work with the tatooist to address your disappointment rather than sue.

see the thing is i know he couldn't be arsed in doing it he just fobb's me off all the time... awh im busy iv to this and that but when i enter the shop he's sitting there playing xbox
he left out a banner type scroll thing on the top of it also which i had paid for.
to go get it fixed up somewhere else its goin to cost me prob close enough to the original cost
im going to give him till next week and then go the legal route his attitude is just ppppffffttt i dont give a toss too lazy to do the work that he's asked to do

there is no reason why you can't take a tattooist to court, however before you do i would get in contact with the consumer advice center, which can better explain your rights in such situation and may handle your case for you.

Just try get a better tattooist to touch it up for you. If the cost is something you can afford it might not be worth the hassle going to court. But if the cost if fixing or removing it is very high then you could take him to small claims court.

As has been said, there's nothing about being a tattooist that gives you immunity from suit. You can sue him as much as you can sue the next guy who doesn't provide a service you paid for.
