UCD Speed Trap

    Hi All,

I was driving to my friends apartment last night on UCD Campus.

As I was approaching a set of lights to turn into the student housing, there was a flash right in front of me. It looked like it had come from on top of the lights.

When I was leaving I slowed down to have a good look and there was something up there alright.

Could anybody tell me if this is in fact a speed camera and if so who is it operated by?

Just want to know if I'm to face penalty points, a fine or nothing at all.

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure UCD, while appearing to have normal roads, is in fact private property so it'd be like getting penalty points for speeding in a field.

    I'd say your pretty safe!

Is it possible that the green light was broken? Ive had this happen a few times where the lights appear to flash as I go thru them, only to discover that the problem is the glass is partially broken and the light underneath it shines thru giving the illusion of being a flash.

Without knowing the lights in question Id imagine the object on top of the lights is for traffic management or something.

Where abouts was that?? I drive through UCD almost every day going to and from the gym and NEVER come close to heeding the 30km/h limit and I've never seen or heard of anything like that.

And because it is technically not a public property it could be hard to enforce motoring offences.
