have developed a S1 joint injury which has caused me to curtail my running alot since sep , the problem arose when i increased my mileage to prepare for a half marathon , the S1 on my left side is stretched because of a weak core and left glute which causes my left hip to drop to much while running .
I have been working alot on strenghting my core and glutes while running a bit but the problem still hasnt resolved itself , im just wondering is there anyone here who has had a similar injury and how long did it take to clear up ? its been 2 months now which is a hell of a long time for a runner !

Have you been to an osteopath or chiropractor? If not, find a good one with experience treating athletes. I'd recommend Merrion sq osteopaths,01-6616143, teran synge there is brilliant and probably the best man in the country at treating the si joint, however he's 100 euro a pop and has a few-month waiting list but the others in there are good too. You're pissing against the wind if you haven;t had a few adjustments with this injury. Get the si joint aligned properly first, then hammer the rehab stuff to keep it that way. Good luck.
