Road Construction in Wicklow

    Is anyone else annoyed at the road construction in Rathnew and Wicklow Town. Sat in traffic for nearly 20 minutes today because the contractor has not got a clue how to manage the traffic......why do Wicklow CoCo appoint such incompetent contractors.....also has anyone noticed the lack of health and safety in the construction...watched a lad jump down a hole about 6ft deep and not support to the opening.....aaahhhhhh!

    Any idea what they're actually doing in Rathnew? It does seem to vary a lot how they manage the traffic (or not) as the works go on.

    Its november..... there is a cash left in the budget so it gets spent on anything they think might be of some sort of use.

    Such works couldnt happen in the summer of course it has to happen in cold wet dark November.

    Plus I think they are all council workers rather than a contract job.
    It may explain their catatonic level of slowness.

    They seem to dig it up about twice a year so I guess with budgets to spend it was the obvious thing to do... Rathnew made it onto the Newstalk travel news this evening saying 30 min delays.
