    hi there

ok , complicated story , my retired mum withdrew 20 k from a permanent tsb savings account via bank draft today , she had the bank draft made out to a gold bullion dealer who she has an account with going back a year or so , anyway , she decided this evening that she doesnt now want to buy anymore gold and so wishes to scrap the bank draft and simply re deposit the funds , draft has not gone to the bullion dealer so no danger of it being lodged

how much does it cost to cancel this bank draft ?

how long before she can re deposit the funds and how long before her account is credited accordingly ?

    thanks

not complicated. bring draft back to issuing bank. Tell them that the deal fell through and they will lodge the funds back to account. You will not get the bank draft fee back and if issued in a foreign currency, you may get back less or more than you paid if there has been a currency movement.

You'll be asked to put the reason on the back of the draft why it's no longer needed. Your not entitled to a refund of any fees.
