I think she's probably my least favourite character, they all have something likeable about them - even Johansen - but there is absolutely nothing to Chloe, at all.

After the whole "wah my father wah" in season one, you see, oh, wait, no, there's nothing in there at all. In fact if it wasn't for that fact that almost everything involving chloe also involved Eli, then I would just have stopped watching whenever she was on the screen.

Actually, rereading what I've written here, I think Scott comes in close second for least liked character (for me), though the recent s02e06 improved him a lot for me.

She's not ugly, just not sexy...it's her demeanour and general gloomy presence on the show, the issue isin't so much physical apperance, yeah SGU skews male and we like eye candy.

The point is Chloe is an utter dullard and drepressing, she does NOTHING on the show, they are wasting money on paying the actress when she adds nothing to the show. Now if she was hired for eye candy they are doing a PISS poor job!

Her apperance on the show is that of a very average, pudgey, pouty lipped gloomy boresfest. She has no character, no plotline, no purpose.

The best thing her character could do is go all Borg and start fracking things up...or she becomes a threat and she gets fired out the airlock!

SGU fans would hold viewing parties if that day came!

Aside from Camille, the other female leads / supports are pretty weak compared to their male counterparts. Eye candy alone isn't enough and isn't sustainable in the long term.

I agree they need to ditch Chloe and bring in a strong female in a major role. T.J. can't fill that position either - Apart from the medical role & the baby stuff we know nothing about her.

They're not going to Kill Chloe. Let's face it, we're stuck with her for good. This whole metamorphosis is just a reason to keep her in the show, when what they should have done is let her die at the end of S1 when she was shot. Would have been a better cull than the unborn baby, TBH.

They're now inventing reasons for her to be on it, like how she's now the only one that can change the ship's direction, or solve equations. I foresee a miraculous change coming on, and she'll be suddenly able to control her new found maths skills, either that or they'll cure her just in the nick of time.

They would never have invented this whole new story, just for her, if they were going to kill her off. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'll be pleasantly (and happily) surprised if I am.

I had high hopes for Gim, look how that worked out!

She's actually sitting across from me right now in a Starbucks in Squamish, BC, Canada. She keeps waving her arms and looking around as if she wants someone to notice her, and laughing awkwardly loud. Looks like she's dating a metro who has spent way too much money on his stylish stubble...

So, in real life, she appears to be just as annoying. I'm tempted to go over and ask for a picture... but I don't know yet if I want to cross that line and become "that guy" who actually cares about celebrity.

Turns out, I was that guy. If she goes on to to actually star in something fantastic in the future, like Summer Glau, I knew I'd be kicking myself for not saying hello at least. Plus I texted a few people and told them she was here and none of them believed me, typical "Pics or GTFO" responses.

We actually ended up having a chat about the show. I told her about how this guy on boards.ie thinks she's nothing but a pouty lipped dullard, but then I told her to ignore his opinion because he also liked The Hills. Oh how we laughed

Nah, she was pretty sound. She was talking about her character in the show, and also about a few scrapes and bruises she had gotten that day up at the ski hills in Whistler.

hehe...this is hillarious!, i NEVER said she was ugly....but i stand by my opinion of Chloe, the character on SGU. Fair dues for grabbing the pick and having a chat.

As for The Hills...that's NOTHING to do with anything, totally different show watched foe entirely different reasons, it dosen't disqualify my opinion in the slightest. It's an opinion, about Chloe, shared by MANY....not just on this forum but on any SGU related.

I went back and watched Air the other week and you know her character wasn't always so dark. She used to actually be very interesting in the beginning but it just fizzled out. Thats really the only reason people are tired and frustrated with her: she's cold and distant. I get that she's supposed to be, but something's gotta give there. Eli

Nah she didn't give away any spoilers. She genuinely seemed shocked that I recognized her. She was actually mainly talking about the few falls she had up in Whistler and how the few times she needed to be picked up by some of the stewards they recognized her. Being recognized still seems to be a novelty for her. She said that what she gets a lot is people will pause as if they recognize her from somewhere then just walk on like they can't put their finger on where they know her from.

She did say she likes the direction they are taking with her character though and that it will get a lot more interesting after the mid season break.

I personally don't think the flaws with her character in the show are down to her acting, but rather how she is currently being used. For the last few episodes her script must of been just: "Chloe stares blankly into space"

I don't feel the show is developing any good female leads at all. I actually had hopes for Ginn... but that was short lived

No I get that. Especially again seeing who she was in the first half of Season 1, I still think the drunk scene was pretty good. But the writers are as you said just tossing her around and not really doing anything with the character. They don't appear to be really that sure, which is why I suggested River but thats a rip-off anyhow.

Not really a spoiler but I'm kinda glad to hear she understands it and likes the direction the Chloe will be taking.

I haven't seen Elyese in anything besides SGU, so i've no idea if she's a capable actress or not, thus i have to judge her on what i have seen. I don't deny that the producers/writers have in the past given her nothing to do, ergo this attempt to make her interesting.....but is it working?

Well I think her character is in a transitioning phase. Once she fully becomes this alien/human hybrid I'd say her character will start getting some better dialog on screen.

They seem to be turning her into the deus ex machina that 7of9 was in Voyager. Any future problem or query about a new alien species that comes up I'm sure Chloe will be used to explain or solve it.

fair play for snapping the photo, she looks much better in fresh clothes it must be said,

i really hope they do good with chloe after all the sh1te storylines shes had, but i fear it wont happen,

the stargate writers were never able to write a strong woman, carter worked cause of her tomboyish, they kinda added a bit with her dating a guy for all of 2 minutes, but she never really progressed past what she done with the stargate project,

then teyla in atlantis was a pure wasted opportunity, they had a solid introduction to teyla, swinging around with her slick moves, just to throw a P-90 onto her chest and send her marching through the gate with shppard and mckay, granted we had the once a season hand to hand fight, but a lot of it was just training in atlantis,

if i recall chloe has a masters in poilitical science, maybe that could be put to better use if they had more aliens around, and she could probably put it to some use, you couldnt really have her trying to make calls like wray, bad enough having one ejit and rush trying trying to get power, without adding another,

I dunno... Teyla annoyed me in SGA. She was the Teal'c in Atlantis until the writes figured out that she wasn't quite as cool or badass and brought Ronan in. The token alien in the team... Meh. She really annoyed me (as a character) in the later series - especially with the whole "I'm pregnant but I can still fight" thing that just kept getting her into trouble. Silly Teyla...
