Ha! Taking it to a dealer makes me laugh! Most dealers don't have on site bodyshops and send it to the cheapest bidder! Reputable body shop is the only way
+1, there's only a handful in the country who have their own bodyshop.

My 10 Superb was damaged at the weekend. The lady in question is putting it through her insurance, so no issues over payment etc.

Insurance have given me a choice of returning it to the dealer where I bought it, or using a bodyshop recommended and used by the insurance company themselves. The repairs would be carried out using genuine parts.

Low speed impact so there should be no structural damage (though I will obviously get that checked). New bumper, lenses, parking sensor and a check on the exhaust.

Getting the car to the dealer is a bit of hassle as it's and hour away and would require either time off work or a hire car for the week. The bodyshop, on the other hand, is local.

    What's my best option?

Good bodyshop for me. Got a few bits done in cork recently and it's really beautiful work. Better than original paintwork.

what was said on the other thread is true, most main dealers dont have onsite bodyshops and sub it out.

I would say use a bodyshop with a good reputation and also dont sign a satisfaction note when its finished until you have test drove it and given it a detailed inspection.

most insurance companies will need an invoice and sat note before they pay the bodyshop so it should be in their interest to make sure your happy
