    Folks,

Has anyone used Imagine Wimax in Athone and what is it like? I live out the Monksland side of town. Is the 4g signal on the router based on the amount of bars it can get from its local mast? I guess if you need to put the aerial up on the outside it base don LOS like last mile and ice? Thanks

No, Imagine WiMax is nomadic, non-LOS. The external aerial is only used when you have very poor signal reception. It will never be as good as a fixed wireless system, even the older ones.

But due to high frequency, lack of national licence, and poor coverage, not actually really Mobile like 3G/HSPA Mobile Phone Company Internet.

If there is no real Broadband available (UPC, Fixed Wireless/Metro, phone line-DSL) , I'd get 3G/HSPA rather than "Imagine WiMax".

    Or even Satellite.
