Seconds From Disaster

Heading down town earlier on, i came to a pedestrian crossing. Hit the button, lights go red, i assume i was good to go.
2 steps onto the road and some stupid bitch comes flying around the corner in her massive Range Rover. I froze, shit myself (not really), and the dumb bitch slams on the brakes, stopping inches from me.

Im not a violent man, but if i wasnt so terrified, i would have slapped that bitch into next week
Im pretty sure i would have been dead if she hadnt stopped when she did.

Anyone else have any near-death experiences??
Oh and my ma' isnt a valid answer :D

Yep, Sunday week ago was on the bus that crashed outside Tuam in Galway where our driver died. Was two seats behind him. If the bus toppled, we were well and truly ****ed.

Nope. Too many dumbasses on the road. You should look left and right to see if the coast is clear.

That usually isn't adequate enough... should always look in the direction of traffic to ensure cars are stopping / no idiots breaking the red.
I've had too many close calls from cars breaking red lights.

I was driving my range rover down town earlier, some prick walks out in front of me. Could've put a nasty dent on my bonnet. As a range rover driver lights, signalling and pedestrians mean nothing to me.
Oh yeah, it look liked he shat himself too.

I would imagine the OP means he was bouncing the GI joe figure Downtown on his head whilst walking down the street.

Yore ma is never a valid answer.

(Not your ma. There's nothing wrong with your ma. Well, I don't know your ma, so I can't really comment either way, though I'm sure she's a lovely woman. And I don't mean that in a sexual way, I mean it in a nice way, though I'm not saying that your ma isn't sexy or anything either - I mean I don't know her & I'm sure your da found her sexy or otherwise you wouldn't have been born. But... eh, what was the question again?)

Walking across junction in Stillorgan, along the dual-carriageway. Went across to the bus stop, went to go across the slip road that comes up from Blackrock as saw the coast was clear. Or so I thought. Some dumb bitch driving her big black Audi in the middle of night (roughly 10.15pm) with no lights on. I don't think she even noticed I was there, let alone trying to tell her she had no lights on.

Jesus, I thought this was another state of the economy thread. Your brown trousers aside, you'll understand when I say that I'm glad it's not.

I was running across a road once, frantically trying to catch a dart, around this time of year, poxy weather, leaves on ground, and as I pegged it in front of a car I slipped and did a complete burton in the middle of the road. Mercifully the driver saw that I was a pillock and stopped, but I have to tell you that the fraction of a second I spent on the ground waiting for the contact of wheel on skin was not pleasant. Not pleasant at all.

Hit the "share" button. Then copy & paste everything after the "v=" bit.

    Eg., with this ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_a05ghu4Pw

    copy this bit : e_a05ghu4Pw

And stick it in the you tube thingey above.

It used to be the embed address but it changed a while back.

I nearly ended up in a ditch just there on the way home.
Hit a flood and the car aqua planed across the road.
Luckily i wasn't going fast so i got control back, a few seconds later i'd have skidded into a deep ditch and probably rolled the car.

When i was 14 a drunken neighbour of mine who i had altercations with in the past, drove at me, braked just feet away from me and didn't stop in time. I landed on his bonnet and he began shouting at me as i tried to slide off and get away. I wasn't injured, but it was frighting.
He was going through a tough time and we became friends soon after. I'd say the car was only travelling 5-7mph as he hit me, but i can see how hitting someone at 20 or 30mph could kill them.
