    Hey guys,

I disconnected the battery to ensure it starts in morning as i cant figure out whats up. The left main light wont go off despite turning off all lights and key out of ignition.

Any advice or ideas greatly appreciated.

Is the left indicator on? This turns on the left parking light when keys are out of ignition (in some cars)

if your driving a Scandinavian car (Volvo, Saab) then they don't turn off as it's a built in safety precaution

or if you driving a French car you'll need to scrap it
coz French car are notoriously bad for electronic faults

but other then that I'd say it's a fuse that didn't trip properly or some minor electrical fault

Opel! Phew, at least you won't have to scrap the car now!!

Assuming there is a relay (some cars don't have 'em) and it is at fault, could it affect one side only? Does the relay have separate contacts for LH/RH?
