In my opinion flat betting would be great if i felt the same about every bet i place and i took everything at the same odds. But in reality i'm going to be more confident in certain bets and in those situations i think it is more profitable in the long run if i respond to my confidence and increase the stake. The odds will also be different on each bet so my stake will reflect that. Obviously if you flat bet you reduce the value of your losses as you can only lose a certain amount on each bet. But you also reduce the value of your potential winnings unless you hit a long streak.

I know if i had of placed the same flat bet in my log i probably wouldn't have half the profit i have now.

You need a staking system to maximise the value in your winners and optimise your bankroll management.

A staking plan should help to maximise profits. Be conservative though, try to increase your bank gradually, I wouldn't advise betting more than 5% of your bank on one bet. The more value in a selection the more you should stake, not the more likely it is to win!
