Hi folks, our new rescue dog Milly (AKA Lady Chewsalot, destructo puppy and the furry destroyer) chewed through the power lead of my dell laptop and it is now in many, many pieces:mad:. The lead is beyond repair and so come some time this evening when it runs out of battery power which due to it's age 5 Years:o won't be too long, I'll be laptopless (no pokerstars:eek:).

Checked out the dell website and once Ireland finishes with the IMF there won't be enough money left in the fund to pay the price they're looking for one.

So would anyone know a cheap site or bricks and mortor shop where I can pick up one or gets on bended knees might someone in the Dublin Kildare area have a spare one lying around the house that we might rescue and give a good home too.

She chewed the lead between the transformer? and the laptop. Thanks for the above advert never thought of e-bay, are chargers generic as in work for all laptops.

Currys or Pc World have universal ones they're about €40, only trouble is i've heard of them knackering the battery.

No they are not generic, you can get universal ones as mentioned but you will probably get a better deal on the specific ones.

The charger you are looking for is a PA-16 and plugging in different ones may harm your laptop so dont do it.

Your charger seems to be a 60W, 19V 3.16A. Make sure any replacement you get match these ratings.

Be careful with ebay the adverts link I posted might be a safer option.
