Got a price on belt replacement on my 2.0T FSI vRS of £230 (approx 270euro)
Price includes parts & labour plus the VAG stamp for my book.

    Good price?

I paid around 450 in Cork for belt, tensioner, water pump, and aux belt. If it includes all those then it's excellent.

If is just the belt without tensioners and water pump then it's not so good and they shouldn't be recommending just a belt change.

Nah its a full kit, belt, tensioners, pump. I specifically asked, not them recommending, I've had work done on our other car by them before.

Anything else I should be getting done around the same time (on the 2.0T) since I'm getting this done?

Last service was end of March, should have gotten it done then but service just happened as the car was in getting repaired and was a last minute decision.

They couldn't provide a VAG stamp in your logbook though so I doubt it's them?

They do provide a VAG stamp, from their site
Those of you who own a VAG group car will know the high prices dealers charge. At Walsh Motors we will service your car to the manufactures full recommendation, keeping your book fully validated, but at a much lower expense.

I specifically asked about this the last time I was up as I wanted to keep up the stamps on my wifes A3 as its high spec and had always been serviced by a VAG garage in the UK before we owned it. They did an excellent job on the car, had all the parts they removed to show me and had the vag stamp for my book, so I was more than happy.

BTW I'm just posting here to find out if anyone knows if I can get as good a price here (leinster area), not to discuss any particular garage.

I wouldn't imagine that price being matched. Top notch work done with eugene.

Cool, as I said I was just wondering if anyone had ever gotten a price near that here. I'm going to Peter Kay in the odyssey soon so I have to drive up to belfast anyway will book it in for then.

Need spark plugs at 90k and brake fluid and coolant changes every 2 years. Check the brake pads too

Get a price off Scully Automotive - they are a well respected indy on the Northside - http://www.yelp.ie/biz/scully-autocare-dublin

Won't give you the VW stamp, and to be honest, I'm not sure they'd be able to beat the price you've been given.

I used to work with one of the mechanics there. He did the belt on my MK1 VRs (along with the Clutch and a few other bits).
