With the cold mornings I've noticed alot of condensation in the car, but it seems to be alot more than in other cars. All windows are dripping wet :(

I drive the car everyday for atleast 40 mins in the morning and afternoon so it's not like it's lyin up

any ideas about this problem or is it normal, any suggestions?

It usually clears after 15 mins but that's a serious pain everytime I want to drive :/

Make sure your air conditioning is set to use external air. Using recirculate causes condensation buildup.

Make sure your pollen filter housing is correctly seated.

It's probably not a/c. Most cars in this country are bog standard, just a fan really blowing the air around. Just easiest to refer to it as such. Most cars have a lever or button to select if the fan is recirculating internal air or taking air from the outside.. generally has a little picture of a car with an arrow pointing in from outside or a circular arrow inside the car..

You should also check for damp carpets, water in the boot etc (check under the carpet where the spare wheel is stored in the boot).

The boot gets slightly damp but the rest is fine, I clean it pretty often so I'd notice if anywhere else was damp, mainly the windows, I think it is set to internal air, I'll change that n see what happens

    Cheers

I was doing something to my car a couple of weeks ago and it pissed rain while I had my boot open, after that I had the same issue as you OP so I got a disposable dehumidifier (well my g/f bought one for me :)) and it worked a treat

I turned off that a/c thing and it seemed to work, it was a little colder :D but atleast I could see out the windows ;)

If the boot is damp it is very likely to be the rear window washer pipe.
Common problem on the Mark 4 Golfs and very easy to fix as a DIY (or for an indy mechanic fairly cheap).

It happened to me. The pipe actually popped completley off and all the water flowed into the boot.
A way you can check is by opening the boot, take a look at how dry or wet it is, close it. Switch the car on and wash the rear window for a 30 seconds or a minute. Then check the boot again and see if it any damper anywhere.
It can be around the bottom of the boot lid or at the roof.

The quick solution until you fix it is is hard but driving around baking yourself with hot air while having a window open an inch will help.

Parking with a window open about a centimetre or two will let some of the moisture out too. Parking the car in the sunlight will also help.

With regards to the A/C I think its really about whether the air is set to recirculate or not.

See the two buttons at the bottom?
It doesnt matter if you have two or one but the one you will definitely have is the circular arrow.
Next time the car is on press that a few times. When you see it light up that means it is on. Keeping it off will help with the moisture.
If you are unsure a sure way of switching it off is by moving the dial on the right to the 12 o clock position. This automatically switches off the recirculate air system.

I dont think its totally down to that, I think its more the rear washer.
