Across the road from the Tower Hotel is the Munster Bar, which is fine for a few drinks. If you walk around the corner from the hotel and walk towards the people's park you will find The Three Shippes. If you leave the hotel, turn left and keep on walking past the new Waterford Crystal visitors centre you'll find yourself where most of the pubs and clubs are. Geoffs is a popular pub with a mixture of people. Masons and Revolution would have a somewhat younger crowd and probably not what you're looking for. The Kazbar is a late bar and has three levels, most likely a live band on the top level if you're into that sort of thing. Harvey's is where a lot of people end up at the end of the night and is a disco/late bar with a massive smoking area. It's free in but drinks are not cheap but it certainly is popular.

The tower itself could be good for a few pre-night out drinks. I'm sure the staff there would recommend a few good spots too :p
