Nice catch. Any info on who owns the bus?

(Besides, isn't Blackrock in County Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown now...? Never mind the whole bit about why buses don't run bi-directionally on Rock Hill and Main Street now that those roads have not been one-way for close to two decades.)

Not sure who owns it now but believe it was on private hire. It was probably used as some movie or advertising prop.

Surely city-bound buses would add several minutes to their trip if they had to go via the Main Street and add two right turns and a left? Are those turns even allowed?

I think its ridiculous any bus traveling through Blackrock when the bypass is so close. If they synchronized the lights again along the bypass along with this it would shave at least 10 minutes off this journey.

The only busses that should pass through Blackrock village should be Dart Feeder and those that terminate near the station. Hopefully they will follow the 46A's example with Monkstown Farm. :p

    .

Absolutely....we (The Taxpayer) paid Mssrs Deloitte a whole shed load of money to come up with such ground breaking suggestions....The least we can do is implement them ! :)

As for the Routemaster,it was most likely en-route to the RDS Ballsbridge for the Coach Tourism and Transport Council`s Bus & Coach Show this weekend (Trade Only).

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

You can drive straight onto Main from Temple Road going city bound. The traffic situation makes it look to me like it's no more problematic than outward bound. Made sense to run one way on Main when the street was indeed one way, but not now.

The other alternative is to just eschew the old routing via the village and run on Frascati Road both ways, like RTDH points out.

That bus is for just the west Brits in the area, it just stops at the cricket club, bowls club, Royal yacht club, BT's etc
