Hi all looking for the advice. Today the boiler stoped working and i realised the problem is the fan. I got it working again after spining it myself so got a bit of heat:D. So i was wondering is it the engine or something else like bearing gone, coz looks like engine wants to spin it but its sticking. Thanks

when i supplied a fan it was usually because the bearing went.

What make of boiler is it...Some of the plumbers might be able to advise better.

I assume that when you say engine you mean motor.

It looks like the fan motor is sticking/ faulty.... best to replace.

    For your info:
You must be a Registered Gas Installer (RGII) to work on (Natural Gas) Boilers.. it is illegal to work on the boiler unless your a RGII.
The fan motor effects the combustion process and this must be checked with an analyser by a "Competent Person".

doesnt matter what boiler it is , without having the necessary qualifications to work on gas appliance you should be ringing someone to sort this for you. By messing with the appliance in any manner your heading down a bad road.

    i should have said that....

But its no harm telling him what you think it is.. So he does not get ripped off..He still wont fix it when he realises it invalidates his house insurence
