Ordered from Cabelas using Fifty one.Never again as i had to try and make a return as item was sized wrong.Fifty one will only refund the price of item .They wont send you replacement item as they are only agents for Cabelas.Better off taking your chances with international Standard Surface shipping.I have been getting great stuff from Cabelas for years but this took the good out of it for me.I didnt get my 100% satisfaction from Cabelas customer care either when i complained.

Is Fifty One a courier service? I don't ever use couriers from the US they may be fine inside the CONUS but when goods get this side of the pond they gouge you for anything they can.
USPS is a very efficient service and if you opt for tracked delivery they are easily as good as a courier and much easier to deal with.

It is a real shame, as they used to be seamless and had excellent customer care.

I placed a large order three weeks ago and am still chasing it.

fifth one is supposed to be their crowd which deals with shipping, I managed to get in contact with live online customer service and opperator said she will pass on problem to 51, she said it will take 3 days before i hear anything? I get the feeling cabelas could be waiting to see how ireland current finacial crises with euro bailout will pan out before they release any goods? cant find any othe reason for such shoddy service?

If you have placed an order and paid for it this will hardly have anything to do with it

Not sure, The opperator couldnt even tell me status of order and if transaction has been processed, Have never entered any online transaction before which could not be confirmed withinn hour or two max.

17 useless emails and hours on hold to the USA and still no joy...
    I am very disappointed.
If anyone breaks any ground, let us know how you did it.
At this point, I just want to cancel the order.

Fiftyone emailed today saying order has been shipped, Seems there must be enough cash left in banks to pay for my order, LOL. Cabelas says they had some problems with there ordering system.
    PM sent Deerspotter.

After total frustration and 3 weeks with no progress, order cancelled today.

I have not ordered anything lately, so can't comment.
But I have used their "Live Chat" function in the past to iron out a few wrinkles.

If you click on the 'Customer Service' link up the top of the Cabela's home page it's Option 3 on the next page. http://www.cabelas.com/custserv/custserv.jsp

    Hi All
New to boards tought I would jump in on this thread.
I ordered a few things a week ago from cabelas and like everyone else I never got a confirmnation email. I left it a few days and sent them an email and got a reply the next day saying my order was processed and being shipped in 7-14 working days. Cabelas have now been paid for these items so do you think my order should be ok and will be delivered?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 412 ✭✭Deerspotter

They won't charge you unless the goods have left them.
So you will get the goods, I am sure.

I was told they could not handle international orders on their CHAT when I tried...

Sounds like they fell for the usual corporate muppetry carry on of trying to fix something that wasn't broken. I ordered quite a bit of stuff from them a year or two ago and had no bother whatsoever, good old US postal service delivered within days and all in good nick.

I just received my order from cabelas it took excatly 1 week from ordering on line and delivery to the house so I am well impressed with that. I was not to impressed when I had to pay tax of €57 to the delivery man from ups. The items I bought were €100 excluding delivery charge so that would mean I was charged 57% tax for the items I got. That cannot be correct.?
I have to say well happy with the products.

Customs duty is charged on the total cost of the purchase including shipping costs. UPS being the helpful crowd that they are pay these fees on your behalf then charge you for the privilege.
