I have a Docter 3-12x56 and it is as clear as you can get and up there with the best and you will never find anything bad said about them except they dont come cheap. They are very popular in Europe and are manufactured there.

Just had a look they are actually made in Germany.

i have a docter 8x56 ill no 4 rec. i think there a great scope, use it for deer stalking and lamping and i av no complaints with it. av it sitting on top of a sako 75 6.5x55. if you like the scope and getting it a good price then go for it, you wont be dissapointed.... by the way as far as i no theese scopes are built in germany in the former carl zeiss factory in jena....hope this helps...:)
