recently changed to a new whey protein. it just turns to pure froth when i mix it... have tried loads of different whey protein over the years and never come across this before. its not as bad when i add a few other things into the shake, but on its own its terrible - and trying to gulp down the froth stuff just makes me want to get sick.

has anyone had this before and how do you get around it ??? a google search seems to suggest a blender might be an option but that doesn't suit me at all.

    Thanks.

approx 200mls with one compressed scoop of protein - same as i've always used with other protein shakes.

Isolates froth far more than WPC/blends etc.

I would try mixing it with a fork or similar. Will leave it lumpy but with less froth.

Froth will dissipate over time so if you can leave it for a bit.

I recently just ordered whey protein off bulkpowders for the first time, and i also thought it was really lumpy and frothy! Bit of a let down compared to myprotein - choc mint of theres is tasty stuff!

+1. Let it stand for a minute or two.

thanks for the replies folks. will give it a shot with the fork and see how it goes, i dont mind a few lumps in it.

i've tried letting it sit for a few minutes but it doesn't really settle back to normal (200mls of water and one scoop and after shaking it goes up to the 600ml marker on the shaker... and the froth pretty much stays up the sides even when a bit of it settles back down - like your last sup left in a really nice pint of beer if that makes sense). i got a reply from bulkpowders saying to add the water first, then add in the protein bit by bit and and it should work a bit better....

I've just started using this http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/product.php/314/18/chocolate_mint_whey_protein_concentrate_82___instantised_ having previously used myprotein and I've had no problems with it frothying when mixing with water.
