Hi, if I sign a new contract with Vodafone...the monthly data limit goes from 2GB down to 500MB...what a joke.

is there anyway online to check how much ive used over the past few months to see if this would work for me?

Would 500MB be enough for casual surfing every day, watching a few you tube videos etc?

don't know if vodafone have online history as i'm not a customer.

as to whether 500mb is enough only you will know if you have the history.

for myself i commute 3 hours a day (which i use a 3G connection for, no fancy mifi for me) for 5 days a week, and i'd be doing the usual browsing/tweeting/youtube.

i struggle at the end of my billing period to keep myself under my allowance of 1024mb.

How much of your surfing is done using wifi. I'd use up 500mb pretty quickly, isn't a YouTube video around 20mb?

ahh you can't really put figures on them like that, a youtube video can range from anything from 500k to 1gigabyte.

the only way the OP will know if 500megs is enough per month is to look back through at least 3 months of normal data usage. only then will he know if it is enough.

i have the 2gb data package, and used 1.2gb last month.
500mb is very low if you are watching sky news live, or rte 3g tv, etc
you would use it up very quickly.

I was obviously talking about an average and not every video.

Have a 2gb limit. With a few hours surfing here a day and watch a few YouTube videos. I have 2 days left of my bill period and have used 1.4gb. No wifi usage here.
